The Historic Charm of Savannah, Georgia
The port city of Savannah is the oldest city in Georgia, and makes for a beautiful getaway. The historic city is filled with squares and parks dotted with statues, benches, fountains, and trees dripping with Spanish moss. There’s much to do here from a historical perspective (we recommend a visit to the haunting Bonaventure Cemetery and a tour of the Mercer Williams House Museum, a former residence made famous in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, John Berendt’s book about the city, here simply called “The Book”). This month, we’re sharing all our picks for where to eat and drink in town, from fine-dining to walk-up windows, dive bars to honky tonks.
